Meet the individuals behind Everyday Adventure Treats that work day-in, and day-out to bring you the freshest, and highest quality snack-bars out there!  Knowing who we are is integral to understanding, from an inside perspective, what goes into creating the Treats mission!

Rebecca Walter - Founder / Owner

My investment in Everyday Adventure Treats is an extension of who I am. I spend as much time as possible outdoors. I don’t slow down often unless it’s to relax after an adventure, which lately has been waterfall-chasing around Indiana on the weekends. I have a love of so many endeavors, that often my nutrition has been sacrificed for the pursuit of adventure or work. I understand this is a reflection of many people's lives, who sacrifice their own well-being for all of the otherness in their days.

In 2013, I set out on a mission with one objective in mind - to create a snack that was portable, healthy, and benefitted everyone involved. This is why we have fostered such a unique, employee-driven environment that re-humanizes food. Our mission is clear, we will not sacrifice quality at the expense of anyone on our Team or for simple profit. We have set out to create a new standard in the snacking industry. We are always demanding better, and we are determined to be a part of the solution. This Team we have created is the perfect exhibition of who we are, raising the bar, in this industry.

Richard Wade - Head of Production

So much of my life revolves around my work, which isn’t just Everyday Adventure Treats. I’m also a photographer and videographer. I feel like work is the essence of someone’s existence to a certain extent. It’s very raw, and it forces you in close with people who have different perspectives from yours.

I’m glad that Treats is a socially conscious company. My main goal here is to create systems that don’t contradict our goal of making a positive difference in the world. Sometimes when companies set goals like that, they lose sight of how their mission applies to the workers themselves and the conditions they’re working under. But helping people is irrelevant if the people who are helping are getting hurt in the process. That’s why I take my work here very seriously.

Dawson Richey - Services Administrator

I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur. When I went to college, I was initially a business major. So I’m lucky to be part of a company where I don’t have to take all the financial risk but I get to do the fun parts. I genuinely appreciate how unique this work environment is because we all have a big part in deciding what we want to be doing here. I could come in tomorrow and say that I really want to be in charge of the website and make all these changes, and I know Rebecca would be like, “Okay, let’s do it.” There aren’t a lot of people who are in charge, let alone owners of companies, who allow other people to help shape their projects in that way.

Outside of work, I love learning. I just started coding camp, and I never get tired of learning all the new applications that are constantly changing. I used to do standup comedy and perform music publicly, but that hasn’t been a big part of my life lately. My goal is to play at this local brewery soon, though, so I’ve been working on a set list and playing more on my own.

Dashiell Schonemann-Popliers - Production Assistant

Everyday Adventure Treats is my first “real” job other than yard work, and I’ve been here for almost two years now. It’s been cool to see the company change and to gain more responsibilities as things shift. I’ve helped with labeling, packaging the bars, and making the bars. I like the variety because it keeps me on my toes.

One of my main hobbies is woodturning, which is a category of woodworking where you load a piece of wood onto a machine that spins the wood, then you carve it with a chisel. You use woodturning to make round stuff like bowls. I got an older lathe from my grandpa, who doesn’t use it anymore.

It feels good to work with my hands. I find it relaxing, and the amount you can do with it is pretty much endless when you get into it.

Ashton Hethcote - Digital Consultant

AshtonI enjoy connection and people. Looking below the surface to understand what others really think and feel, and knowing their stories.. yea I like that. I am an extremely passionate writer too, it's a personal form of therapy when I am writing it is such a free space to say whatever I am thinking, and tell any story that I feel needs to be told in that moment. What a release it is for me to find the right words to describe a situation or my current brain state. Another free time activity for me is yoga, I try to get on the mat once a day, even if it's just for a few minutes! If I could pick up everything today, and go study yoga in India, I totally would, and think I will someday! If you want to know how physically capable your body is, and how much energetic power you have within, start practicing yoga.

I chose to be a part of Everyday Adventure Treats because it is WAY more than just a brand. The minute I started working with Rebecca, I knew she understood the way my mind worked, and like me, she is another soul that craves to understand and impact other people. I know my path crossed Everyday Adventure Treats for some cosmic reason, and I am so excited to see where we all go together!
